This painting, meant to symbolize me, was painted by someone who doesn't know me and from the words of someone who sees only positive things in me, and yet, it has it all: my qualities, my flaws, the in-betweens. There is so much to say. Critics would say it’s like the horoscope in the newspaper. You see only what you want to see and it’s so general that anyone could relate to it. But there is one detail that doesn’t lie. This flower that appeared to her is no ordinary flower, it is the same flower and the same size as the one I tattooed on my back the day I decided to cover the traces of a past full of challenges and make it the foundation for something more beautiful, more gentle. How could Ms. Barberane have known this? Is this also proof that when we listen carefully to our inner self, we also hear the hearts of others?
